NLP

WHAT IS NLP?

Neuro: The nervous system (the mind) through which our experiences are processed via the 5 senses

Linguistic: Language and other, nonverbal communication systems through which our neural representations are coded, ordered and given meaning

Programming:
The ability to discover and utilize the programs that we run in our neurological systems to achieve our specific and desired outcomes

In other words, NLP is how to use the language of the mind to consistently achieve your specific and desired outcomes.

Have you ever tried to communicate with someone who doesn’t speak your language, and, therefore, can’t understand you? For example, when someone goes to a restaurant in a Foreign country and they think they ordered steak, but when the food shows up, it turns out they actually asked for liver stew.

This is the kind of relationship that most of us have with our unconscious minds. We might think we are “ordering up” more money, a happy, healthy relationship, peace with our family members, and being able to stick to a healthy diet. However, if that’s not what’s showing up, then something is most likely getting lost in translation.

In NLP, we have a saying: the conscious mind is the goal setter, and the unconscious mind is the goal getter. Your unconscious mind is not out to get you – rather, it’s out TO GET FOR YOU whatever you want in life. However, if you don’t know how to communicate what you want properly, it will keep bringing steaming bowls of liver stew out of the kitchen.

NLP is for anyone who wants to gain mastery over their mind and emotions, and get better results in life. Your results in life come from your actions, which come from your thoughts and emotions. Your thoughts and emotions come from your programming – the way your unconscious mind has been programmed. By knowing how to change your programming, you can change your results in life.

How NLP Works?

  • NLP works on the principle that everyone has all the resources they need to make positive changes in their own life. NLP techniques are used as a tool to facilitate these changes.
  • NLP Therapy can be content free. That means that the NLP Practitioner can be effective without knowing about the problem in great detail.
  • NLP techniques involve non-invasive, medicine free therapy that help the client to discover new ways of dealing with emotional problems such as low self-esteem, anxiety, lack of confidence and destructive relationship patterns.
  • NLP has its roots in the field of behavioural science, developed by Pavlov, Skinner and Thorndike. It uses physiology and the unconscious mind to change thought processes and therefore behaviour.
